Five of the selected Latin American countries experienced a decline in the average real wage in the last quarter of 2021 when compared to the same period of 2019. Brazil registered the largest fall compared to pre-pandemic levels. By contrast, Panama had an average real wage of 108.1 points, taking the fourth quarter of 2019 as the reference point, that is, 100 points, the largest increase amongst the selection.
