Regional distribution of GDP in Tunisia 2016
Grand Tunis is the region that contributes the most to Tunisia's gross domestic product (GDP). According to the most recent data, the region of the capital city generated nearly 36 percent of the GDP in 2016. It was followed by the Central-Eastern region, which accounted for a share of around 24 percent. On the other hand, the lowest economic contribution was registered in the South-West, representing only 4.5 percent of the country's GDP.
