Distribution of seasonal migrant workers in Libya 2020, by occupation
Most seasonal migrant workers in Libya in 2020 were involved in unskilled jobs. Among them, 30 percent performed elementary occupations, including jobs in the construction and agricultural field that do not require skilled labor. Moreover, 21 percent of the seasonal migrant workers in the country were technicians and associate professionals, while 15 percent were working in craft and related trades. Seasonal migrant workers are involved in circular migration, meaning that they move regularly from the home to the host country - Libya in this case - to work or seek employment.
