Willingness to take COVID-19 vaccine in Tunisia 2021, by area of residence
As of February 2021, only around 35 percent of the surveyed population in Tunisia was willing to accept a vaccine against the coronavirus (COVID-19). TThe share between the rural and urban populations differed by only one percentage point. According to the results of the same survey conducted through telephone interviews, people felt they did not have enough information about the vaccine to make an informed decision. Moreover, only 22 percent of Tunisians considered having a high personal risk of contracting the virus, which is why they would decide not to get vaccinated.
