Civilians killed by the police in Rio de Janeiro 2020-2022, by ethnicity

In 2023, persons of color (POCs) were the main victims of deaths caused by police intervention in the state of Rio de Janeiro, with over half of people killed being Pardo Brazilians. Another 25 percent were black people, while white ethnicity accounted for 12 percent of victims.
