According to a study from 2020 on consumer opinion on brand responses to the racial justice movement in the United States, 33 percent of respondents completely agreed with the statement that it is appropriate for any brand to take a stance on racial justice. At the same time, 29 percent of respondents thought it was appropriate to do so for brands with a strong African American following.
