Change in retail stores turnover due to COVID-19 in Poland 2020

Between March 11 and 14, i.e., in the first four days after the announcement of school closures due to the coronavirus outbreak in Poland, the turnover of retail stores increased by 57 percent on average. In the following week, these stores continued to sell at least 10 percent more than usual. This is more than in the hottest period before Christmas 2019. However, average pre-Christmas purchases were lower than those made over the week when the first coronavirus fatalities were confirmed in Poland.
