During a representative survey of the British adult population, undertaken between the 16th and 17th March 2020, respondents were asked their opinion on which events should take priority in the event that domestic sport leagues are paused as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the next opportunity to complete them overlaps with international sports fixtures or tournaments. There was significant variation within the gender distribution of the respondents that held the opinion that the completion of domestic leagues competitions should take priority, with 42 percent of male respondents and only 23 percent of female respondents.
