The U.S. Comes 7th for High Speed Internet Penetration
According to Akamai, the U.S. is still lagging behind other countries worldwide when it comes to adopting high speed Internet. That's defined as a connection of at least 10 megabits per second and those countries include Latvia and Switzerland. South Korea is at the very top for lightning fast broadband with a 77% penetration rate of 10+ Mbps connections. Japan came second with 54 percent while the U.S. came in a distant 7th with just 36%.
