Women’s Participation in Parliament is Highest in Rwanda
With almost 64 percent of parliamentary seats held by women in 2013, Rwanda has the highest proportion of women in parliament globally. This due to a new constitution drafted in 2003 reserving 30 percent of all legislative seats for women. The tiny nation of Andorra comes second for the proportion of women in parliament with 50 percent while Cuba rounds off the top three with 48.9 percent.
