U.S. rate of birth defects among infants from Zika pregnancies, 2015-2018, by type
Between December 1, 2015 and March 31, 2018, among pregnancies with laboratory evidence of confirmed or possible Zika virus infection, around 3.1 percent of live-born infants had microcephaly and 1.1 percent some kind of eye abnormality. This graph shows the percentage of U.S. live-born infants, born between 2015 and 2018, from pregnancies with laboratory evidence of confirmed or possible Zika virus infection that had any Zika-associated birth defect, by birth defect.
