Value of intra-African imports 2019, by product
In 2019, mineral fuels and oils were the leading products traded on the intra-African import market, with a value exceeding 18 billion U.S. dollars. Machinery, mechanical appliances, and nuclear reactors followed, imported from countries within the continent at around 3.5 billion U.S. dollars in total. Moreover, vehicles (excluding railways and tramways), and pearls and stones were also among the leading products in terms of intra-African imports.
