Voters turnout of the presidential election Indonesia 2004-2019
Indonesia holds a national election every five years to choose a new president, vice president, parliamentary and local representatives. The election in 2004 marked a significant shift in Indonesia's democratic history, where the country had its first presidential election during the Reform era after President Suharto's resignation in 1998. Notably, before 2004, Indonesia's president was directly appointed by the People's Consultative Assembly (Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat/MPR).
